Our Story
It all started with the perfect outfit. One of those outfits Rachel couldn't take for granted. She knew how great this outfit was, as soon as it came together and insisted that her gal pals go out with her after work, which they happily obliged. They bounced from location to location and ended up at an event where Mark found himself with his new roommates as he'd only arrived in San Francisco 30 days prior. They sparked a conversation over "The Room" which led to a viewing with their wingmen and wingwomen by their sides. A week later Rachel spent the weekend playing tour guide to this new San Franciscan and neither of them ever looked back.
Exactly 5 years to the date later, we look forward to sharing our day with you, where Mark can now play the tour guide and Rachel will be wearing an even more perfect outfit.

The 101 Year Old Kohl Mansion has had many identities from sophisticated to sacred, always with a touch of mystery. Born in 1863 in San Jose, Charles Frederick Kohl grew up in another mansion on an estate in San Mateo, now known as Central Park. His father William Kohl had made his fortune as a founder of the Alaska Commercial Company, and the son was accustomed to an opulent and fashionable life style. After Frederick married Mary Elizabeth Godey (Bessie) in 1904 and the two had traveled to Europe, they built the mansion they named “The Oaks” in what is now Burlingame between 1912 and 1914.
The Kohl Mansion is about 4 miles from San Francisco Interntional Airport, we strongly recommend flying into SFO.
We have secured two hotel blocks at the Embassy Suites Waterfront Hotel in Burlingame. You can book your room two ways:
Go to www.sfoburlingame.embassysuites.com and click on "Add Special Rate" when making a reservation. The two "Group Code"s are 'BS1' and 'BS2'.
You can also call the hotel at 800-EMBASSY (362-2779) and use the same codes - 'BS1' or 'BS2' (or Blumenthal/Sanborn 1 or 2 if you prefer)
The hotel rooms are first come first serve and must be booked before October 4th.
The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from SFO airport.
Embassy Suites Waterfront Hotel
We recommend using Lyft or Uber on your smartphone instead of traditional cabs as they are more expensive and on the decline in the Bay Area. Using one of these apps, a GPS tracked driver will be on their way to your location with phone number, and map of their current location. What is the dress code?
We're requesting all guests dress in cocktail attire.
Can I bring my child or friend?
Unfortunately we're not able to accommodate your kids or plus ones if not noted on your invitation, however cute they might be!

Where can I park?
There is plenty of parking at the Kohl Mansion, don't worry about it!
Can I RSVP online?
Feel free to let one of us know ahead of time but we request that all guests complete the RSVP card that you'll receive in your formal invitation.
I have a dietary restriction, can you accommodate this?
Yes! We'll have a beef, fish, and vegetarian option but please definitely let us know if you have any other allergies or restrictions and we will have a custom meal prepared for you.
How do I get from the hotel to the Kohl Mansion?
As of now we are still looking into options to arrange shuttles to and from the hotel. Otherwise we suggest you use Lyft or Uber. Check back here for updates!
